Excerpt from The Characteristics of Iris-Fed Millimeterwave Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antennas
The final term of eq (3) accounts for the dominant mode of the antenna. The antenna is said to be resonant when this term is purely real. Of course the input susceptance of the antenna will most likely not be zero at the resonant frequency due to the susceptance of the higher order modes.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the characteristics of iris-fed millimeter-wave rectangular microstrip patch antennas. Building on the usage of microstrip patch antennas at microwave frequencies, the author explores an alternative feed structure, the iris feed, due to the impracticality or unavailability of microstrip line and coaxial feed at millimeter wavelengths. The book opens with an introduction to the history of microstrip patch antennas before detailing a theoretical model for describing the iris-fed patch antenna. The author then presents fabricated and tested microstrip patch antennas, analyzing their far-field power and concluding that the iris feed is worthy of consideration in the design of future antennas, particularly millimeterwave microstrip patch antennas. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Codice articolo 9781528512039_0
