Sinossi

A fascinating look at how traditional Japanese martial arts were preserved and taught in the early 20th century. This volume presents a complete reproduction and first English translation of a 1916 book on the Bokuden School of Jujutsu.

Fully illustrated throughout, the book documents 60 Jujutsu techniques, providing a rare glimpse into how the Bokuden School transmitted and preserved its martial tradition during a period of profound change in Japan. It also contains additional material on traditional Jujutsu resuscitation methods.

An important historical document for anyone interested in Jujutsu, Japanese martial arts, and the preservation of traditional martial traditions.

First English translation.
