Hannelore Vanderschmidt, PhD, EdM, served as Co-Director of the Center for Educational Development in Health at Boston University 1984-2012. She was a member of the Boston University School of Public Health faculty in the Department of International Health and Social and Behavioral Sciences 1976-2012. Dr.Vanderschmidt holds a Master’s degree in educational research from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a doctorate in Educational Psychology from Boston College. She has taught related courses at Boston University School of Public Health, the Harvard School of Public Health as well conducting health professional training in 20 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Ascher J. Segall MD, DrPH holds a doctorate in epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health and an M.D. from University of Lausanne, School of Medicine. He has been Director and Co-Director of the Center for Educational Development at Boston University School of Public Health since 1976. Dr. Segall is author of Systematic Course Design for the Health Fields, John Wiley 1976, one of the first texts on competency based instruction. Dr. Segall was Chief Medical Officer Health Manpower Research at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland 1984-1988. Domenic Screnci, EdD is Senior Advisor for Academic and Emerging Technologies at Boston University. Domenic serves the university as an educational technologist, instructional systems designer and integrator, instructional designer and a producer of curriculum materials for traditional and digital media based educational projects. Dr. Screnci has a Master’s degree in Educational Media and Technology and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University. Dr. Screnci has been in biocommunications for over 30 years and was a founder and co-director of Boston University’s online Master of Science Health Communications Program and has taught an instructional design course at Boston University’s School of Public Health “Teaching Public Health” and is also on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts/Boston in their Master’s level Instructional Design Program teaching an Information Design and Visual Literacy course.
