DR. KRISTY A. BRUGAR is professor of social studies education, instructional leadership, and academic curriculum at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Brugar's work appears in journals such as The Elementary School Journal, Journal of Social Studies Research, and Journal of Teacher Education. She is also co-author of Inquiry by the Book and coeditor of Real Classrooms, Real Teachers: The C3 Inquiry in Practice.

DR. KATHRYN L. ROBERTS is professor of reading, language, and literature in the Division of Teacher Education within the College of Education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Roberts's work appears in journals such as The Social Studies, Journal of Teacher Education, and The Reading Teacher. She is co-editor of Real Classrooms, Real Teachers: The C3 Inquiry in Practice.
