Sinossi

This book was designed as a time-stamped curriculum to introduce children to the Bible. It is centered on children 6-12 years old. This book may be used as a Sunday School curriculum, weekly church activity, or as a homeschool curriculum. This book is designed for any Christian domination. It starts in Genesis and systematically touches all 66 books of the Bible, encompassing lessons for major Christian events. It incorporates the Christian calendar, school calendar, and major U.S. holidays because children's lives revolve around school and holidays. It is designed for non-clergy and non-teachers, realizing that most volunteers at church do not have a degree in Divinity and/or Education. Most lessons have a true 5-minute prep. Craft items may be easily found at most larger discount stores. The book has an easy to follow format. Each lesson begins with a “Warm-up” designed to get children focused on the lesson, but allows late-comers a chance to catch up. Next is a “Lesson” that is planned for approximately 20 minutes. During this time children will look up verses in their Bible. Encouraging them to really dig into their Bible and learn how it is laid-out. The lesson is followed by a “Snack”. The snack is optional and can be as elaborate or simple as you choose. Ideas for snacks that relate to the lesson are provided each week; however, a standard simple snack is a great option. Each lesson is concluded with an “Activity”, game, or craft that relates to the lesson. You will need a copy of the Teacher Workbook. You may purchase the Teacher Workbook at www.52BibleLessons.com. Informazioni sull'autore

My name is Lorraine Gilbert and I have been teaching Sunday School since 2009. I served as a Lay Ministry Coordinator from 2001-2002. From January of 1996 to June 1998, I served in several volunteer positions in a large Baptist church located in Houston, Texas. One position was an Activities Coordinator for a Sunday School Class, which had approximately 300 people at that time. I planned retreats, kept up with the class calendar, and coordinated special projects. I also became the Assistant Director for a new Sunday School Class, which had approximately 200 people, where I coordinated the initial set up of the class. I am also a registered nurse and have been working in the medical field since 2002. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education in 1990, and taught in Houston Public Schools from 1991 to 1996. I say all this very humbly. I love helping others. It is my life passion. I am hoping that my experience will help you have a stress-free and fun class where you can introduce the basics of the Bible. In 2013, I was given the privilege of teaching the 3rd Grade Sunday School Class. The focus of the class was to teach the children how to use their Bible in a period of a year. As with many churches, we give our children a Bible when they start the 3rd grade. The teaching resource we had for this class was outdated, so I started looking on the internet for other resources. I spent hours doing this, and after a lot of frustration, I decided to put this book together to help others in the same situation. With the help of some very good friends, my husband, and local beloved clergy, I designed this book to be used for Sunday School, weekly children's activities, or even home school.
