Sinossi

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light (Genesis 1:1-3).

How do you understand the first three verses of the Bible? Be careful—your answer may tell more than you realize! In this in-depth study, Russ Bixler critiques the popular theory that these verses describe a creation out of nothing—as well as the theory of evolution! Instead he shows, from the original Hebrew, how the Creation week is a recent event (6,000-10,000 years ago) and how the primeval universe and earth can still be billions of years old. This book will change forever your thinking about Creation!

"I am very, very grateful for this chance to read [this] book. I pray that it will find its mark and make its true contribution to this very hotly debated area of inquiry."

—Chalmer Faw, Ph.D., Professor-Emeritus of Biblical Studies, Bethany Theological Seminary

"With considerable exegetical and historical support, Russ Bixler relates numerous passages of scripture to contemporary mythological accounts, while maintaining a commitment to a recent six consecutive day creation. He offers an issue worth much further study by Christians interested in true science."

—William E. Stillman, Ph.D., Senior Engineer (Ret.), Research & Development, Westinghouse Electric Corporation
