Riassunto

The book ""Swedenborg Rite and the Great Masonic Leaders of the Eighteenth Century"" by Samuel Beswick is a comprehensive exploration of the Swedenborg Rite and its impact on the Masonic community during the 18th century. The book delves into the history and origins of the Swedenborg Rite, as well as its influence on some of the most prominent Masonic leaders of the time, including William Preston, Jean-Baptiste Willermoz, and Baron von Hund. Beswick examines the rituals and practices of the Swedenborg Rite, as well as its connection to the teachings of the philosopher and theologian Emanuel Swedenborg. The book also explores the controversies and criticisms surrounding the Swedenborg Rite, and its eventual decline in popularity within the Masonic community. Overall, ""Swedenborg Rite and the Great Masonic Leaders of the Eighteenth Century"" offers a fascinating glimpse into the intersection of two influential movements in history and sheds light on the lasting impact of the Swedenborg Rite on the Masonic tradition.Contents: Swedenborg's Initiation at Lund; Royal University to Royal College of Mines; TravelsVisits to Lodges; How the Rite began; Swedenborgian Masons the Great Leaders of the Eighteenth Century; Duke Charles, Grand Master of Germany, King Gustavus III of Sweden, Prince Charles of Sweden, Grand Commander of Scottish Rite; Cardinal Prince de Rohn, Grand Commander of Scottish Rite in France; Count A.J.
