Das RAW VISION MAGAZINE gibt es seit 1989. Gründer und Chefredakteur bis heute ist John Maizels. Bis heute geht es um visionäre und intuitive Kunst von Außenseitern, oft isolierte Autodidakten mit wenig Interesse an Ruhm oder Anerkennung. Darunter sind 'Geisteskranke' ebenso wie ganz gesunde Leute, alle aber mit einem starken kreativen Impetus. Diese Künstler gehören zur Gegenwartskunst. RAW VISION hat für seine Arbeit viele Preise bekommen, darunter von der UNESCO als 'beste Kunstzeitschrift der Welt', vom Pariser Bürgermeister für seinen 'Beitrag zur Weltkultur' und auch in USA. Jedes Heft ist ein Sammel-Objekt und bietet mit hochwertig gedruckten Abbildungen und Essays zu Formen der künstlerischen Produktion jenseits des Mainstream. Neben der Zeitschrift erscheinen auch einige Bücher.
