In 1581, Dr. John Dee, an advisor in the court of Queen Elizabeth I, began a series of scrying experiments intended to explore the ability to contact the spirit world. Donald Laycock (d. 1988) was a doctor of linguistics at the University of Canberra, Australia.
Stephen Skinner began his career as a geography lecturer and magazine publisher, but his long-term interest has always been Western magic. Stephen has written more than thirty-five books.
Lon Milo DuQuette lectures worldwide on such topics as magic, tarot, and the Western Mystery Tradition. He is the author of numerous books on ceremonial magic and related topics.
