He is the author, coauthor, and editor of over 170 books on design, social satire, and visual culture. He is the recipient of the 2011 Smithsonian National Design Award for "Design Mind." He lives in New York City.

Steven Heller is art director of the New York Times Book Review and chair of the graduate design program at the School of Visual Arts. The author or editor of more than 80 graphic design titles, he lives in New York City.
