John D. Luerssen (Westfield, NJ) was given his first two Springsteen albums, Born to Run and The River, as a gift by his grandmother Emily on Christmas Day 1980. Luerssen is the author of Rivers' Edge: The Weezer Story (ECW 2004) and U2 FAQ: Anything You'd Want to Know About the Biggest Band in The World... and More (Backbeat Books 2010). Luerssen has written for Spinner, Rolling Stone, Billboard, All Music Guide, and American Songwriter.
