Space Operations: Innovations, lnventions, and Discoveries is a collection of materials presented at the 13th SpaceOps Conference, held in 2014 in Pasadena, California and organized by Caltech's Jet Prepulsion Laboratory. From numerous papers presented at the event, those selected for this volume represent a cross section of four main subject areas: Breakthrough Technologies for Space Operations; Mission Design and Concepts; Ground System Advances for Efficient and Secure Operations and Mission Operations. All of the selected papers exemplify the SpaceOps organization's goal of presenting and discussing the current state of space operations and the most recent developments in the field.

Informazioni sugli autori

Craig Cruzen is a Payload Operations Director for the International Space Station (ISS) Program at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He leads a ground control team in performing science operations onboard the ISS. He has received several NASA awards including the Silver Snoopy. Mr. Cruzen holds a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Michael Schmidhuber is employed at the German Space Operations Center (GSOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He has worked in mission operations and system development for various LEO and GEO projects. Currently he is responsible for ground system engineering of the new European Data Relay System (EDRS) that will be operated from GSOC. He graduated in aerospace engineering from Technical University of Munich.

Lydia Dubon has held leadership positions at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in the area of ground data systems engineering for NASA flight projects, most recently as Ground Data System Development Manager for the InSight Project. She has extensive experience in ground systems delivery management and engineering throughout the mission lifecycle. Her systems engineering contributions have leveraged from her degrees in Engineering & Computer Science, and Economics.
