The US military does much more than fight wars; it responds to humanitarian crises and natural disasters, assists advanced militaries to support international peace, and trains and equips almost every military in the world. He is also a faculty affiliate at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University. He is the coauthor of US Foreign Policy and Defense Strategy and editor of Cyberspace and National Security.
