Sinossi

The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is the primary vehicle for enabling the government to review most chemicals, other than foods, drugs, cosmetics and pesticides, before they are introduced into commerce. In this book, Miriam V. Gold and Jean Warshaw provide readers with a unique, strategic text on regulatory compliance of the TSCA. The book is a unique resource for lawyers and regulatory affairs specialists who need to understand the TSCA, including the surrounding law, regulations and guidances. This volume includes a broad array of resource materials, references to other supporting source materials, and procedures to implement an integrated TSCA compliance plan. The 2015 Edition features a new chapter discussing the different types of laws that states have enacted to regulate chemicals (Chapter 17). In addition, some new and interesting TSCA cases have been added to the enforcement section demonstrating that while enforcement is trending down, penalties remain severe for those who do not take compliance seriously.

From the Author

The 2016 edition is available as of November 2016, and is completely revised to address the many reforms in the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act of 2016. which became law on June 22, 2016.  The new title of the book is The Toxic Substances Control Act: Reformed by the Lautenberg Act.  .
The changes brought about by the Lautenberg Act are addressed in an integrated manner together with the surviving requirements of the pre-reform law.  Readers can avoid the annoyance of having to read multiple documents to understand the new TSCA programs.  .This edition also has revised ISO-compliant standard operating procedures that incorporate the new Lautenberg Act requirements, and has an updated chapter on state chemical regulation laws.  The CD-ROM has been discontinued as the EPA's website has become a more robust archive of source materials. We have retained and expanded the extensive footnotes to case law, regulations, and EPA guidances.
