This book follows the path of a dream that starts during the author's youth, as expressed through "Longings" and "A Poetry of Absence." The impotence caused by contemplating the actions of felonious leaders and cruel criminals tries to shake the human spirit, but in the last paragraphs of "The Light," the forever ignored are finally victorious. That victory lives on in "Spring of Light," where an incredible find capable of changing the course of humanity is meticulously dissected. This find won't favor the already favored; it will be given to the noble ones, the generous ones, for the find obeys only peace amongst people. Oh, to be a part of this dream!
"Las Comadres" takes us to the everyday hustle of our people as they present their unchangeable ideas and brings us a bit of humor. The comadres are exactly like that: immutable, intuitive, and they know only what's essential.
And finally, for you who still dream, I gift the poems of "Adventures in Poetry."

Roberto Arévalo Araujo MD, FACP, (Renato Bettio) was born in El Salvador. After high school, he traveled to Mexico to continue his studies and was certified as a physician and surgeon by the Facultad de Medicina of the UNAM in Mexico City, 1970. He then interned in the Oakwood Hospital (Dearborn, Michigan), followed by two years in internal medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). In the three following years, he specialized in hematology and oncology at UMDNJ. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the founder of the Cancer and Hematology Center in Pasco and Pinellas Counties, Florida, where they offer radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. He is also a founder of the Medical Mission of Mercy/Medical Mission International, whose objective is to freely offer surgical and ophthalmological help to homeless people in El Salvador. In 2002, the mission was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Now, he offers, dear reader, a bit of the inspiration that his soul embraces, telling stories of impunity and misery, and how they affect the lives of his Central American compatriots. And yet he still ascribes to the belief that the poor's faith, those who have remained, those whose love for life can't be extinguished, those who, above suffering, have a life-affirming philosophy, in spite of it all, that it is better to be here.
