Riassunto

Slain in the Spirit takes you on a personal journey of one woman's experience of developing a deeper relationship with her Heavenly Father through the work of the Holy Spirit in her life. Sylvia describes in detail her fears of the concept of being slain in the Spirit and how her life was changed as a result of an encounter with God that will leave the reader searching for a more in-depth relationship with their creator and will equip you with the tools necessary for living a fulfilled life in His presence. Sylvia uses her creative writing talents to draw you into each story and demonstrates a keen ability to make you feel a part of the adventure while adding vivid details to create a storyline that is easy to follow. You will pick up on her sense of humor quickly and will even find yourself laughing throughout the book. At the same time there is a certain reality that keeps you wanting for more. This book will remind you that it is not about falling down, but getting up! Enjoy! As a child Sylvia had several dreams for her future modeling, nursing and writing, although there were few opportunities for blacks back in the 40's and 50's. After high school Sylvia married the love of her life Charles Hall. During the 70's Sylvia was hired as a school community liaison to help resolve racial tensions. At age 45 having raised eight children, seven sons and one daughter she decided to go to nursing school. As we well know life is filled with many challenges, her mother developed severe cardiac problems and her son, actor Kevin Peter Hall (Predator & Predator 2 and Harry and the Hendersons) was diagnosed with AIDS. Her time was spent traveling back and forth from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. After her son and mother died she hit an emotional and spiritual low. It was then, she drew upon her love for writing to express her wide range of emotions. It was her faith in God and her desire to share with others that inspired her to write this book.
