Lorraine Rose has written a witty, insightful set of stories that demonstrate her wisdom and learned lessons over many years. She led a conventional life as wife, mother, and grandmother for many years. Read how this changed dramatically in her late 40’s. She received a B.A. in college and began freelance writing. which included a column for a Women’s magazine. Her column covered the problems, perils and (often comical) challenges of being, “On My Own Again.” When almost 60, she drove, alone, 1800 miles from her home in upstate New York to rent an apartment, sight unseen, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she wrote feature stories for the city newspaper, The New Mexican. Travel with her as she parasails, goes up in balloons and gliders, and once even jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. She taught English in Warsaw, Poland, for three years, although she isn’t Polish and wasn’t a teacher. Her adventures also included traveling around the United States, Canada, and Mexico in a 5th wheel for a few years. Now in her 80's, she lives vibrantly (In her words: "For how long?") in San Diego, California, where she continues her writing. She already has two more volumes underway. You're sure to enjoy those as well.
