Riassunto

This first book of the bilingual edition of the Cuentos Grotescos by José Rafael Pocaterra contains three stories.

A young boy goes to school for the first time. In The Roman ‘I’ (La ‘I’ Latina), he talks about his adventures, his classmates and teacher, and his first brush with death.

In The dead-eaters (Los come-muertos) some kids assault a family of vagabonds living on the edge of the cemetery. Which of them is able to escape this violent encounter?

When a man reads the news of the death of his first love in the newspaper, he remembers how they met and dated, and shares his rosy story in Anniversary (Aniversario).
