Anyone seeking personal freedom will benefit from learning how iniquities work and what the Bible says about breaking free. The first goal of this book is helping individuals break free from iniquitous patterns of perversion. The second goal is equipping counselors, ministers, families, and friends in helping others overcome personal and ancestral patterns of iniquity.

Unless iniquities are properly addressed, people quickly revert to damaging behaviors. Demons, seeing the house is swept clean, come back, and bring others with them (Matthew 12:43-45). It is no wonder some pastors and churches have given up on deliverance ministry. It can be depressing if not approached biblically.

People caught in throes of iniquity still have iniquitous patterns intact, even after other areas are addressed. It is disappointing when people receive powerful ministry but are sucked back into old patterns of behavior. An old proverb says: “a pig will return to its wallow” but people are not pigs! They have personal sovereignty granted them from God Almighty to break every pattern of iniquity.

Unfortunately, many are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). The Bible provides tools to set captives free from personal and inherited behavioral patterns leading to defeat.

I have read hundreds of books and articles on counseling, deliverance, inner healing, addictions, and the like since the turn of the century. There are times when a single idea from a book is worth far more than the cost of the entire book. One such idea came from 10 Curses that Block the Blessing by Larry Huch. A life-changing impression jumped off the pages when I read his book. He shared how many Bibles mistranslate both the Hebrew word for “iniquities” as “sins” and the Greek word for “faults” also as “sins.” This is huge and leads to doctrinal error. What Larry shared caught my attention, and I began a deeper study of the meaning of these words. I sought help from Holy Spirit, opened my Bible, fixed my eyes on Jesus, and began studying some familiar Scriptures with the help of Strong’s Concordance. I use “Holy Spirit” rather than “The Holy Spirit” because I know Him as a person. I do not refer to my friend as “The Friend” and do not want to call Holy Spirit, “The Holy Spirit.”

God revealed keys to heart issues as I looked at the original meanings of the Hebrew and Greek words, which are best translated as “iniquities” and “faults.” Deliverance deals with demons. Deep healing deals with inner wounds. Both are important. Together they take us to the core, where full deliverance and healing are achievable.

Iniquities and faults also must be properly addressed!

The Bible’s way of dealing with iniquities and faults is making true confession to the Lord and His appointed servants, followed by the corresponding prayer of the righteous for healing. This book shows us how to deal with iniquitous patterns through confession, remittance, and prayer to free people from personal and ancestral iniquities deep within one’s inner core.
