This story is based upon the premise of "what would be the result if Jesus and Hitler lived at the same time. Jesse and Heinrich are raised in the same village - Jesse in a warm loving family, Heinrich by his bitter grandmother. Even as a child Heinrich bullied Jesse. Jesse is forced to leave school to help his father and chooses to learn about becoming a minister in his church. When his grandmother dies, the Army offers Heinrich the security he needs. In this atmosphere he excels. Jesse becomes disillusioned by the acts of the Elders of his church, leaves home and becomes a vagrant. He finds his "calling" and becomes the leader of a religious group known as the Believers. Heinrich suffers a career ending injury in a plane crash and becomes interested in politics. Through guile, manipulation and bullying he becomes the leader of the country and declares himself head of the Church. His one desire is to have Jesse recognize him as such. The stage is set for a clash between these two powerful men.- one the epitome of all that is good, the other the epitome of evil. One offers hope, the other death and despair. The battle ground is the their country and the people who live there. Using incidents from World War II, the question becomes who will emerge as the winner of this deadly battle?
