Winner of the 1962 Gold Dagger Award - British Crime Writers' Association Nuri bey is a Turkish philosopher and scholar who lives for his books. An innocent and dreamy man, he yearns to go to Oxford, but with his relatively poor background it's a dream that may never be realised without the help of his wealthy mentor, Madame Miasma. When she asks him to deliver a parcel to a friend of hers at the airport, Nuri bey obliges, and events bring him in touch with a side of life that is dark and dangerous. Joan Fleming was a British author of more than thirty crime and thriller novels. She was born in 1908 in Lancashire, England, and educated at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. The British Crime Writers' Association twice gave her its prestigious Gold Dagger Award for best crime novel of the year, once in 1962 for When I Grow Rich, and again in 1970 for Young Man I Think You're Dying. She died in 1980.
