Riassunto

OpenVZ (Open Virtuozzo) is an OS-level virtualization technology based on the Linux kernel and OS written in C. It creates multiple secure, isolated Linux containers on a single physical server enabling better server utilization and ensuring that applications do not conflict. OpenVZ is the only highly scalable virtualization technology with near-zero overhead, strong isolation, and rapid customer provisioning that's ready for production use right now. However, novice users may find it challenging to optimize its features while starting out.

Starting with the very basics of OpenVZ, you will learn to configure templates, create containers, administer your server infrastructure, and utilize the OpenVZ Web Panel.

Packed with practical examples and precise instructions, this book starts by helping you set up and configure OpenVZ. It then introduces you to the basic usage of OpenVZ as an OS-level virtualization tool. You will then learn to configure OS templates and move on to understanding the best ways to create containers.

Once you have deployed OpenVZ on your server infrastructure, you will gain practical experience in administering your containers with OpenVZ. Finally, you will learn to optimally utilize the OpenVZ Web Panel that will allow you to manage your server remotely.

This is a definitive guide that will give you the hands-on experience you need in using this open source and popular virtualization tool.
