I really like the depth of coverage with regard to the different types of research methods and this is important to students who are looking at rersearch for the very first time. It's also highly unusal to have a text that looks specifically at sport research and this is another benefit to our students. The text is very easy to understand with excellent opportunities to extend the subject area in specific areas. Dr Mark F. Smith is a Senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Research Director within the Department of Sport, Coaching and Exercise Science at the University of Lincoln, where his work involves teaching, research and consultancy activities. Having completed a PhD in Sport and Exercise Science through the University of Kent, he began teaching in Higher Education in 2001, and in 2005 he became an accredited practitioner of the Higher Education Academy.
