David Peace is an emerging British author who is widely read and taught, and whose novels are increasingly translated into commercial film (The Damned United, March 2009), as well as television (the UK's Channel 4 adaptation of the Red Riding Quartet, March 2009). Katy Shaw is Professor of Contemporary Writings and Director of Cultural Partnerships at Northumbria University. Her research brings an inter-disciplinary, theoretical expertise on the field of the intersection between creative and factual writing as well as contributing to developments in the fields of poetry and the contemporary novel, language, identity and translation.
