This booklet is part of a series published by Veloce for the Royal Automobile Club in the UK which will reward readers commitment to wanting to help themselves by learning more about their car with a 20% discount on their next service call! It is small enough to fit into the glove box and even coat pocket but obviously you'll want to read it before you ever need it! This is a very basic treatise and focused on mechanical and electrical processes and principles, not a long-winded pondering about how cars have shaped the history and direction of our society. Arvid Linde is a car enthusiast and appreciator of eccentric design ideas. He has an MSc in Car Engineering, and currently works as a journalist and author. Arvid now edits an independent green motoring blog at electriccarnews.co.uk, where he tries to unravel the question of whether the electric car is the answer to the green motoring needs of the 21st century, or just another gimmick. Arvid is also a DIY enthusiast, and is trying to encourage people to become more familiar with their cars.
