Maurice Thurman has been driving Series Land Rovers for over 25 years, with six of those spent in the rainforests of Borneo, driving in remote locations on former logging trails, and two years in Papua New Guinea. These were environments where Land Rover problems required quick diagnosis and often innovative temporary solutions.Maurice has driven various vehicles across the Sahara, from the UK to Pakistan, and across Australia, in between undertaking numerous shorter, less demanding trips. These have enabled him to build up a good working knowledge of hands-on roadside vehicle fault identification and repair.

Maurice ThurmanÆs 1961 Series IIA 109in Land Rover has been with him for over 25 years. When he was offered a teaching post in Brunei some years ago, Maurice shipped the vehicle there and set up a Land Rover mechanicÆs club for his students. He did the same during a two-year stint in Papua New Guinea, after purchasing an 88in Series Land Rover. Since retiring from teaching, Maurice has devoted his time to creating a much respected website for Series Land Rover owners worldwide, and he remains an enthusiastic visitor to Land Rover shows across the UK.
