Alejandro de Quesada is a Florida-based military history writer, an experienced researcher and collector of militaria, photos and documents and runs an archive as a secondary business, with a strong Hispanic-American content. He has written 12 books and over 50 articles, including for Osprey Elite 137 The Mexican Revolution 1910-20. He is a leading authority on Spanish-American subjects.

Posted to Cuba, it fought in the battles of Las Guasimas, Kettle Hill and San Juan Hill. At this time, Theodore Roosevelt assumed command, and the unit became known as 'Roosevelt's Rough Riders'.Eventually withdrawn, the men returned to a hero's welcome in the US.
