The Witcher Keys is set in the winter on the North York Moors - its sense of season and place is perfect... Magic swords, potions and powlers combine to make this this book mystical and magical. It is a little bit Tolkein, a touch of Enid Blyton, albeit on ecstasy, and a tad Philip Pullman. Often dark and gruesome and, at times, light and summery, it takes its reader on a non-stop rollercoaster of a journey. It is heart-breaking, heart-stopping and breathless, frightening and funny. L'autore

Ian Johnson is a qualified civil engineer who has lived in Australia and New Zealand. Back in the UK he rebuilt a historic fire-damaged hotel in the Cotswolds before running it for two years. He is a keen inventor, has three daughters, and lives near Malton, not far from the wild North York Moors.
