Someone once said that everyone has a book inside them. Well, what better book to write than your autobiography? In this book, Jackie Sherman tells us how to record all those memories and turn them into a readable and interesting format.

Each chapter covers a different stage of planning and is divided into sub-sections with activities throughout. The author is a teacher, and this come through clearly as she guides the reader through the various stages involved in telling your story. Although Writing Your Autobiography makes no attempt to disguise the fact that it is a textbook, it's easy to follow and written in a style that makes you feel that a tutor is by your side.

In many ways, assimilating the information that you need to write your autobiography is akin to genealogical research. Indeed, I felt that the author s greatest advice is the fact that it's the details that bring your story to life, and the book's exercises help to remind readers of this, turning the task into a pleasure rather than a toil.
