Duncan Falconer is the author of The Hostage, Mercenary, The Protector, Traitor, and Undersea Prison. He is a former member of the elite Special Boat Service of the Royal Marines, left after more than a decade of operational service to work in private security. His SBS exploits were documented in the bestselling First into Action.

Duncan Falconer grew up in Battersea in London, spending the first ten years of his life in an orphanage. He became a Special Forces operative at the age of nineteen (it is unlikely there will ever be one as young again). He is now a successful screenwriter in Los Angeles.
