Dr. Stephen Hance is the Dean of Derby. He was formerly Canon Missioner at Southwark Cathedral and Director of Mission for the Diocese of Southwark. Prior to that he was a parish priest for nearly 20 years. He has degrees in theology, mission and leadership, and sociology. He has written books on confirmation and (with Jacqui Hance) on parenting, and contributed to a number of others, most recently on mission action planning, and on sacramental fresh expressions of church.
