Rudolf Rocker (1873–1958) was a leading figure in the international anarchist movement for over 60 years. Born in Germany, Rocker settled in Britain in 1895, learned to read and write in Yiddish, and became a beloved member of the Jewish Anarchist movement until his death. As a proponent of the workers' movement known as anarcho-syndicalism, Rocker wrote for journals in German, Yiddish, and English throughout the world. His other books include Nationalism and Culture, Pioneers of American Freedom, and The Tragedy of Spain.
Noam Chomsky is one of the world's leading intellectuals, the father of modern linguistics, an outspoken media and foreign policy critic, and a tireless activist.
Nicholas Walter (1934–2000) was an anarchist writer and journalist. He was a founding member of the Committee of 100 and one of the Spies for Peace, revealed only after his death. His books include About Anarchism, Nonviolent Resistance: Men Against War, and the posthumous collection The Anarchist Past and Other Essays.
