It explains why workplaces are being restructured and explores alternatives to management restructuring initiatives. In developing a labour response to restructuring issues, the title draws on the experiences of unions in South Africa and in other countries and the policies they have developed. It looks at the opportunities that workplace restructuring presents and at the strategies which unions can adopt to meet the challenges of restructuring.
