L'autore

The late Dr Wolfgang Holzel grew up at his parents' riding school so his riding career began at an early age. He was so outstanding at dressage, show jumping and eventing that he received the coveted Gold Medal for riders (Reiterabzeichen). For nine years he was head of training at the famous German Riding School at Warendorf, and afterwards became national trainer for the Australian dressage and three-day event teams, a post he held for six years.

Dr Petra Holzel has been a passionate rider since childhood,trained horses with her husband up to advanced level, and have published many books and articles on the subject.

Martin Plewa author of the chapter on jumping, has been riding since the age of six. He has been trained in all disciplines up to advanced level and as an event rider has competed in world and European championships. He is the author of many articles in specialist books and magazines and has been the national trainer of the German three-day event team since 1985.
