Informazioni sull'autore
Born in Rhuddlan, Wales, in 1936, Philip Jones Griffiths studied pharmacy in Liverpool and worked in London while photographing part-time for the Manchester Guardian.In 1961 he became a full-time freelancer for the London-based Observer, when many of these images were taken. He joined Magnum Photos in 1966 and became a full Member in 1971.Philip Jones Griffiths was recently honored for Achievement in Photojournalism, at the 5th Annual Lucie Awards in New York, October 2007.

"Middle Years" presents a domestic revolution, from a photographer whose international fame covering a country on the other side of the world is now put in the context of his equally incisive work at home. An exhibition of over 50 images from the book was exhibited in 2007 at Trolley Gallery, London and afterwards at Savignano Festival, Italy.In 2008, the images will be exhibited in Liverpool, England, as part of their "City of Culture" celebrations.
