Jenny Steel is a plant ecologist by training who has had a great passion for natural history and gardening since childhood. After working at Oxford University for 20 years, she established a Wildlife Gardening Centre, a plant nursery specialising in British native wildlflowers and wildlife-friendly cottage garden plants. She now works as a freelance writer as well as writing books on wildlife gardening.
