Online Teaching and Learning in a Changing Pedagogic and Linguistic Landscape is the second volume in the book series “Developing Online Language Pedagogies”. It fits the overall aim of the series by showcasing approaches to online teaching and research at the Open University, UK. The volume draws on the experience of a well-established community of practice within the context of distance learning in the field of languages and applied linguistics. It aims to appeal to a broad base of readers, from the inexperienced practitioner to the confident user of online pedagogy, and those interested in current developments in the field. Cutting edge expertise of academics in online and/or blended pedagogies and research is harnessed through the volume’s two interconnected sections: Teaching and Learning and Innovation. These sections reflect the unifying theme of the volume, which is online student engagement in fast-paced, changing technological and multi-lingual contexts.
