Growing up near the Motor City, it was easy for Chad Lampert to fall in love with cars. He began to draw cars as soon as he could hold a pencil. After working in graphic design, Chad opened a sign business and then started a web-based company called mototooner.com, illustrating people's hot rod cars. He lives with his wife and daughter in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Growing up near the Motor City, it was easy for Chad to fall in love with cars. His dad really started the whole thing--he had pictures and posters of old Benzes and Porsches hanging in his garage, and Chad began to draw them as soon as he could hold a pencil. As a kid, Chad played with slot car tracks and hot wheels and got regular doses of the Dukes of Hazzard. Chad was as surrounded by automotive inspiration as a kid could be.He took art classes throughout school and other students often commissioned him to draw their cars (usually during class). After a job in graphic design, Chad started his own sign business in his hometown and then opened an automotive illustrating business. (See some of his work on mototooner.com.) By drawing people's cars, Chad is purusing his life-long passions--and making a living while doing it!
