This volume describes how ESOL tests and test users have changed greatly in the past few decades. Some widely used ESOL tests have been revised, with a number of new tests incorporating advances in computer technology. Chapelle introduce teachers and administrators to the principles, methods, and vocabulary of language assessment. Twenty-one reviewers of ESOL tests consider test purpose, methods, and justification of their use in particular situations.
