Neil Melanson is a retired US Federal Air Marshal and the head grappling coach at Xtreme Couture. He is world-renowned for his unique grappling style and scientific approach to the sport of MMA. In addition to training Randy Couture for his title fights in the UFC, Melanson has trained a slew of notable UFC competitors, including Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort and Gray Maynard.

Marshal D. Carper is the author of The Cauliflower Chronicles, a travel memoir about living in Hilo, HI and training at the BJ Penn MMA Academy. He has been published in Ultimate MMA Magazine, Fight! Magazine and The Escapist, and is senior editor of Lockflow.com, a popular MMA website.
