His clinical and research interests focus on the effects of electronic media on young children and shared reading and creative play as healthy alternatives. He is the founder of the blog BabyUnplugged.com, whose mission is to help keep children screen-free until 3, and promote healthy, developmentally-robust alternatives.

Dr. John Hutton is a pediatrician, author, and owner of the award-winning blue manatee children&;s bookstore and decafé in Cincinnati, Ohio, and affiliate site blue manatee boxes.
