The author, Mr. Wenli Xu, was the prisoner of conscience #001 of his time in China. His book "A Brief Introduction to the Normal Social Order of Mankind" is an updated version of the work in the same name which was first published in 2008 in Hong Kong. Mr. Xu experienced misfortunes for half his life, serving 16 years' prison term as per orders of current Chinese leaders Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zeming, and twice rescued respectively from the prison by the U.S. Clinton administration and the U.S. Bush administration, Junior. He was known as the godfather of Chinese dissidents. The book was originally a collection of passionate letters, representing his deep reflections on related social issues, which he wrote from the prison in Beijing to his daughter as a prisoner of conscience, a loving father with great expectations for his daughter, and a world citizen who wished to realize people of the myths about mankind.
