Eugène Viollet-Le-Duc était un architecte et théoricien français. Né en 1814 à Paris, mort à Lausanne en 1879. Il restaura un grand nombre de monuments du Moyen-âge comme Notre-Dame de Paris et  la cité de Carcassonne. Il travailla aussi sur les châteaux de Pierrefonds, Coucy et Roquetaillade
