Robert Seethaler est né en 1966 à Vienne. Egalement acteur et scénariste, il vit à Berlin. Après Le tabac Tresnick (Sabine Wespieser éditeur, 2014), qui a rencontré en France un très bel accueil critique et public, Une vie entière, élu livre de l'année par les libraires d'outre-Rhin, confirme la profondeur de son talent d'écrivain, capable de mener avec une grande simplicité son lecteur au plus près de ses émotions.

Né à l'aube du XXᵉ siècle, Andreas mène une vie humble au coeur des Alpes autrichiennes. Il prend part à l'aventure des téléphériques qui vont ouvrir sa vallée à la modernité, avant d'être envoyé sur le front de l'Est dans les montagnes du Caucase.
