Considering a wide range of ancient sources both Jewish and Christian, Ruth Tuschling analyses the relationship between angel ideas and the concept of orthodoxy, and also considers the question whether angels are dangerous to monotheism or rather supportive. The study also demonstrates the continuity of angel ideas from Judaism to Christianity.
