This research book intended to develop a methodological framework that would facilitate identification of suitable area for implementation of appropriate innovative systems, geared towards upgrading rainfed agriculture in the Doddahalla watershed (One of the most drought-prone area in Karnataka state). The core objective is to determine a biophysical factor that influences the suitability for planning innovations in watershed management. For the innovative planning and Management soil infiltration variability, groundwater potential zone delineations, the ideal and suitable sites for the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) and favourable cropping pattern are designed by spatial multi-criteria evaluation of the several thematic layers (LuLc, rainfall, runoff, LST, ET and crop water requirement). The sustainable applications of the multi-criteria map can increase the food productivity and selecting the suitable cropping pattern might be helpful for the sustainable agriculture and reduce the water deficit.
