Matt Ruff, 1965 in New York geboren, wurde bereits mit seinem ersten Roman »Fool on the Hill« (1991) zum Kultautor. Bei Hanser erschienen außerdem »G.A.S. Die Trilogie der Stadtwerke« (1998), »Ich und die anderen« (2004), »Bad Monkeys« (2008) und »Lovecraft Country« (2018). Matt Ruff lebt in Seattle, Washington.
Giovanni Bandini und Ditte Bandini arbeiten seit 1985 als Schriftsteller und freie Übersetzer. Unter anderem haben sie Seamus Heaney, Matt Ruff, Cathleen Schine, Kiran Nagarkar und Neel Mukherjee ins Deutsche übertragen.
