Informazioni sugli autori
Anthony Horowitz wurde 1956 in Stanmore, England, geboren. Er stammt aus einer wohlhabenden Familie und wuchs mit Kindermädchen, Köchen, Gärtnern und einem Chauffeur auf – und empfand dieses Leben als bedrückend. Bereits mit acht Jahren wollte er Schriftsteller werden. Nach einer wenig glücklichen Schulzeit im Internat studierte Horowitz an der University of York. Mit 23 Jahren schrieb er sein erstes Buch und hat seitdem nicht mehr aufgehört zu schreiben. Über seine Motivation, Bücher für Kinder und Jugendliche zu verfassen, sagt Horowitz, es „entschädigt mich für die Unzulänglichkeiten meiner Kindheit“. Neben seiner Arbeit als Kinderbuchautor schreibt er auch für Film, Fernsehen und Theater. Seine Bücher um den 14-jährigen Geheimdienst-Agenten Alex Rider wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Anthony Horowitz ist leidenschaftlicher Fan der „Tim und Struppi“-Comics und zu allen Orten seiner Bücher gereist (außer zum Mond). Er hat ein Jahr in Australien als Cowboy gelebt, liebt das Tauchen und geht drei- bis viermal in der Woche ins Kino. Mit seiner Frau Jill Green, einer TV-Produzentin, und den beiden Söhnen lebt Anthony Horowitz in London.
Werner Schmitz, geb. 1953 in Köln, lebt in Celle. Er ist Übersetzer unter anderem von Martin Amis, Nick Cave, Philip Roth, Paul Auster, Ernest Hemingway und hat ein Dutzend Jugendbücher übersetzt.
