Harold Pinter dominierte lange Zeit mit Theaterstücken wie «Der Hausmeister» und «Die Geburtstagsfeier» die europäischen Bühnen. Später sorgte er mit Attacken gegen die amerikanische Regierung und den von Tony Blair unterstützten Irakkrieg für heftige Kontroversen. 2005 erhielt der britische Autor den Nobelpreis für Literatur. In seiner Monographie würdigt Peter Münder die Entwicklung eines großen Sprachartisten und rebellischen Zeitgenossen.

Informazioni sull'autore
Peter Münder, Jahrgang 1941, studierte Anglistik, Germanistik und Philosophie in Londonderry (Nordirland), Hamburg und Berlin und promovierte mit einer Arbeit über «Harold Pinter und die Problematik des absurden Theaters». Er war als DAAD-Lektor an der deutschen Abteilung der Chulalongkorn-Universität in Bangkok tätig und lebt jetzt als freier Autor in Hamburg. Er schreibt Reportagen und Kritiken, u. a. für «Süddeutsche Zeitung», «Der Spiegel», «Hamburger Abendblatt», «Berliner Zeitung».
