L'autore

Heinz Schön hat als 18jähriger Zahlmeister-Assistent der Handels-Marine die Gustloff-Katastrophe überlebt. Wenige Monate nach Kriegsende begann er mit dem Aufbau seines Gustloff-Archivs. Es umfasst heute mehrere tausend Berichte, Dokumente und Fotos. Heinz Schön verfasste mehrere Bücher, hat viele TV-Dokumentationen und Filme als Fachberater begleitet; er gilt heute international als fundiertester Kenner der «Gustloff«-Katastrophe, ihrer Zusammenhänge und Folgen und der Endphase des zweiten Weltkrieges auf der Ostsee.
